The New Property Taxes.
They have done it. They have raised your taxes, again. Please tell me that I am not the only one feeling over taxed here! $.011 to the dollar seems so incredibly small does it not? But still it is an increase. So where is my raise? What new great service am I getting for this? In a community that sponsers close to no community events if any at all to enrich the lives of the community (I am having trouble finding any that aren't privately sponsered), but bothers to put sprinklers in the park. You can see the want pushing past the need in the budgeting.
With so many other things going up in price, why would they do this? The Mayor really slays me in this one. He vetoed that thing knowing full well that the councel would overturn it. They had the votes the first vote to have overturned it. If he had any backbone he would have told them to make due or everyone who works for the county to take a $.011 per dollar made pay decrease. Can you imagine how that would have played out in the Daily Times, who clearly supported the tax increase from the begining. But as it is he gets out looking against taxes and we all get higher taxes. This is an upside down business for sure.

Rainday downtime for children
http://www.education.com/ has a competition at the moment for completing 5 of their activities before July 31st. I have found this site extemely helpful on the rainy days. They have activities for all age groups and you can even pick the grade or age you want to look at. They tend to be quite simple and for most of them you probably have the supplies already on hand. Worth taking a look at.
